The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded governorship elections in Niger State, Alhaji Isah Liman Kantigi, has announced that he has accepted the result of the election as the will of God.
Kantigi, who scored 387,476 votes as the major contender for the gubernatorial poll, lost to Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago of the All Progressives Congress, APC, that got 469,896 votes.
In a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Minna, he said whatever happened during the elections was approved by God.
According to him, “God monitors every situation. There is time for everything, elections have come and gone. The thing there is that, we are looking at issue where there were mistakes, whether from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, or from our own human greed. Whether the winner won through the popularity he has, or he had used other means or whatever. We are looking at so many other means.
“For me, whatever will not happen on Wednesday to me will never happen. If it is going to happen on Thursday, no human being can make it happen on Wednesday, it must happen on the Thursday approved by God.
“However, let us gather around whatsoever God has put on the throne and join hands to look at the problems of Niger State. Believe me in all honesty, Niger State is being abandoned with alot of laspses”.
