Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023 general election, Mr Peter Obi has urged candidates of the party for the March 18 Anambra State House of Assembly election to support the administration of the State Governor, Charles Soludo, when they attain victory.

metrowatchxtra reports that while Obi, a former governor of the state belongs to the LP, the incumbent Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, is a member of the ruling Action Peoples Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state. Soludo is seeking to have his party secure majority rule in the incoming State Assembly.

Not minding their political differences, however, Obi, during a closed-door meeting he held with the House of Assembly candidates in Awka, Anambra state capital, on Friday night, said they must ensure they work with Soludo irrespective of the party differences for a better Anambra.

Hsi words, “We are not urging anyone to impeach any other person. We held a meeting with our assembly members, and we are calling on Nigerians to vote for Labour Party.

“We are not asking anyone to go and impeach anyone. People should not be afraid of impeachment. We only seek to get things right in Nigeria.

“Nigerians voted for me for hope and a better Nigeria society. And I promised, the hope will surely come.”
