As Mr. Peter Obi seeks redress in court over the outcome of the February 25, 2023 presidential election, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate has appealed to his supporters to remain calm.

In a statement via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday, Obi advised his supporters, popularly referred to as “OBIdients”, not to congest the court rooms or turn the premises to protest ground.

“As we go about seeking redress for our stolen mandate, I plead with OBIdients to respect the sanctity of the Court premises and give our legal team the space and peaceful environment to carry out their duties.

“The Court Premises is not and should not be turned into a rally ground. I urge the Obidients to go about their businesses peacefully,” the former Anambra governor tweeted.

metrowatchxtra reports that the Appeal Court will today rule on INEC’s application seeking to set aside the earlier order granted to both Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to inspect the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) machines used for the February 25 presidential poll.

Recall that Obi and Atiku had obtained the order of the Court to inspect the INEC materials used for the exercise.

However, the electoral body is asking the court to set the order aside as it may affect the conduct of the Saturday, March 11 gubernatorial and houses of assembly elections; arguing that the BVAS machines need to be immediately reconfigured for the poll.
