Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, has been declared as the winner of the Saturday’s presidential election in Delta state.

Delta is the home state of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and running mate to Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 polls.

According to the breakdown released by INEC, LP won in 18 LGAs: Isoko North, Isoko South, Warri South, Udu, Ughelli North, Uvwie, Okpe, Ndokwa West, Oshimili South, Sapele and Ndokwa East, Ukwuani, Aniocha South, Ethiope East, Oshimili North, Ethiope West, Aniocha North and Ika South.

Okowa’s ruling PDP managed to win in the remaining 7 LGAs: Ughelli South, Burutu, Patani, Bomadi, Warri North, Ika North East and Warri South West.

While Obi polled 341,866 of the valid votes cast, his closest rival, Atiku of the PDP polled 161,600b to emerge second. The APC’s Tinubu was placed third with 90,183 votes.
