Bode George, a well-known leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has addressed the main issue facing the party ahead of Saturday’s presidential election.

George claimed that the PDP’s issue with the general election this weekend is that the party’s management has not done a good job of managing it.

Before  the 2018 general election, George said in an interview with Arise TV that PDP officials had neglected to include the southwest in key party posts.

George said, “The managers of the current party did not manage it well. See the scenario now. The presidential candidate is northeast, the director general of the national campaign is North West, the national chairman of the party is in the north-central, the vice presidential candidate is from the south-south, and the acting chairman of the board of trustees is from the southeast.

“Where is the south-west in all these? Where is that inclusivity, so that is the problem we have and the integrity group still stands so fast without belief? [Where is] fairness and equity?

Remember how Atiku Abubakar’s selection of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate sparked a crisis within the PDP.

The party’s leadership has angered Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike over Atiku’s selection of a running partner.

Wike demanded Iyorchia Ayu’s resignation as PDP National Chairman in response to Atiku’s move.

Wike observed that the PDP’s presidential flagbearer and national chairman could not be produced in the North.
