On Wednesday, the Osun State Police Command said that four people had been detained in connection with a mayhem that took place in the state’s Ilesa region and resulted in some fatalities.
In a statement, Yemisi Opalola, the command’s spokesman, denounced the violent altercation between two cult groups on Tuesday and said that in addition to the four suspects in police custody, efforts were being made to find others connected to the situation.
She said that the impacted regions have returned to normal and urged parents and guardians to monitor their children.
She also appealed to politicians in the state to rein in their supporters and stop them from engaging in violence.
It statement partly read, “Presently, four (4) suspects have been arrested in connection with the mayhem in Ilesa and its environs, while efforts is in top gear to arrest other perpetrators.
“The police appeal to parents/guardians to monitor their children/wards and prevent them from getting involved in any sort of criminal activities.”
