Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, APC, has vowed to remove the fuel subsidy if elected.
In a meeting with business executives on Friday in Lagos State, Tinubu made this disclosure.
The APC presidential candidate declared that money once used for gasoline subsidies will now be used for things like public health, physical policy, and infrastructure.
He said: “We must remove the PMS subsidy immediately. We will redirect funds to public infrastructure, health, and affordable infrastructure.
“Physical policy will be the main driver, we must steadily move out budget from dollar-dominated oil revenue.”
Nigeria expends heavily on fuel subsidies yearly, a situation that some economic stakeholders have described as fraudulent.
