Ahead of the 2023 general elections, supporters of the Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, on Monday, shut down Asaba, the Delta State capital, at a rally in solidarity with Obi.

The enthusiastic supporters, comprising mostly youths, had on Saturday October 1, staged road walk to galvanise more support for the Obi-Datti presidential ticket, bringing socio-economic activities to a halt for several hours.

Again, Monday’s road walk was not different as members of various support groups under the ‘Obidient’ Movement converged at the Inter Bau Flyover, marched through Nnebisi Road to Traffic Light at Ezinei junction before returning to the starting point.

State coordinator of one of the groups, Kingsley Imoni-Ogbe of YES Peter Obi Support Group, said the former Anambra State Governor was the only candidate among the contenders that could turn things around for good in the country.

He said the rally was a demonstration of the fact that Nigerians were tired of the old politicians.

In Cross River, residents embarked on a two-million-man march across major streets in the state to pledge support for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the 2023 general elections.

Describing Obi as the solution to move Nigeria to its promise land, the member representing Akamkpa Biase Federal Constituency at the National Assembly and the Labour Party’s flag bearer for the Cross River South Senatorial District, Danial Asuquo, explained that Obi is capable of turning the country around by tackling insecurity, strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, amongst others.

The participants at the rally said ‘Enough is Enough’ to the era of vote buying even as they called on Obi’s supporters nationwide to vote encase come 2023.
