As political parties in the country gear up for full fledged campaigns in the next few weeks, the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Students Affairs, Comrade Jerry Ehiwarior, has reaffirmed the massive support of Nigerian youths, particularly the student body for the candidacy of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) presidential flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Ehiwarior gave the assurance in Markudi, the Benue State capital while inaugurating the North Central Zone officials of the Atiku/Okowa Students Movement in the area.
According to him, millions of Nigerian youths whom he opined have since lost hope on the current All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration, are already throwing their weights behind the PDP presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa.
Describing the duo – Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa – as the best pair for the “Rescue Nigeria Vision” of the PDP, Ehiwarior said that he is already working in collaboration with other aides to the various People’s Democratic party (PDP) State Governors on Students Affairs to mobilize over 20 million students in the country to vote massively for the party in the forthcoming election.
He said Nigerian youths, particularly Students under the Atiku/Okowa Students Movement are ready to throw their weight and queu behind the presidential candidate of the Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; the current Governor of Delta State.
The Okowa’s aide, who is also the convener of the group, “Atiku/Okowa Students Movement”, decried the spate of killings, kidnapping and other security challenges in the country, particularly those perpetuated across the various academic institutions in the country.
He condemned the security challenges and poor security networks across the country which he noted,  has resulted in wantom killings and kidnapping, particularly in the various campuses and schools in the country which, he maintained, has made the nation’s institutions of learning unsafe just as it has rendered education unattractive.
“We have decided to meet today and, after a successful session, we have decided to throw our weight and support for the Atiku/Okowa ticket come 2023.
“We therefore, State that this is a passionate appeal and clarion call on the entire Nigeria Students to join force in the support for Atiku and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for President and Vice President in a bid to rescue Nigeria and restore her lost glory.
“We therefore, use this medium to signal the beginning of mass mobilisation of the entire Nigerian Students across the federation for this historic rescue mission anchored on Atiku/Okowa project, 2023”, Ehiwarior said.
