The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has said filling stations in Nigeria have reduced fuel prices in the last three weeks by N125 per litre following the petrol rate cut in the gantry price of the Dangote Refinery.

He disclosed this in an interview on Monday.

Recall that the federal government had invited downstream petroleum sector stakeholders, including Dangote Refinery, depot owners and marketers, for talks on cost-reflective fuel pricing amid a drop in crude oil prices.

The federal government had insisted on a further cut in petrol price and cost-reflective pricing.

Speaking after the meeting, like Dangote Refinery depot owners, Maigandi said its members have been dropping fuel prices in the past three weeks.

According to him, fuel prices in filling stations have dropped significantly to between N1155 and N1299 per litre, up from N1340.

“Fuel prices will go down further; that was our major agreement. Both Dangote Refinery and depot owners assured Nigerians.

“Presently, we have reduced it by N125 per litre nationwide,” he told Said.
