Gov Okpebholo Appoints Enugu-born Martin Oli as Commissioner in Edo

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of businessman and community leader, Mr. Martin Anayochukwu Oli, as a Commissioner-designate.

The nomination, announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq. on Tuesday, is subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.

Mr. Oli, an indigene of Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, is widely recognised for his contributions to business, grassroots mobilisation, and community development within Edo State. Over the years, he has earned a reputation as a respected leader of the Igbo community, championing initiatives that promote social cohesion, economic empowerment, and sustainable development.

According to the government, the nomination reflects Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to building an inclusive administration that accommodates the contributions of all residents committed to the progress of Edo State, irrespective of ethnic background.

The government noted that Mr. Oli’s experience in business and public engagement would further strengthen the administration’s efforts to deliver effective governance and accelerate development across the state.

His nomination will now be transmitted to the Edo State House of Assembly for legislative screening and confirmation.
