The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has unveiled its campaign council for the 2027 general elections, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode among those listed in the leadership structure.
The list, released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, places Sanwo-Olu in key positions within both the advisory and campaign structures of the council.
Prince Tajudeen Olusi is listed as Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council, while Sanwo-Olu is named Advisory Council Chairman. Fashola and Ambode will serve as co-chairmen.
Also listed in the advisory structure are President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; and former Minister of Health, Adeleke Mamora.
The structure further names Ojelabi Cornelius as Vice Chairman I, Obasa as Vice Chairman II and Damilola Sonayon James as Vice Chairman III.
At the campaign council level, Sanwo-Olu will serve as chairman, while his deputy, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, is designated deputy chairman.
Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro is named Director-General of the campaign council, with Rasaq Ajala as Deputy Director-General and Adekunle Olayinka as Campaign Secretary.
The council is divided into several directorates and committees responsible for different aspects of the electioneering process.
They include legal and compliance, party and inter-party affairs, administration and logistics, traditional institutions, diaspora engagement and residents’ associations, among others.
The unveiling comes as the Lagos APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 elections, with Hamzat already emerging as the party’s governorship candidate and Damilola Sonayon-James as his running mate.
The formal inauguration of the campaign council is scheduled for Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
