The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Obingwa West State Constituency in the 2027 Abia State House of Assembly election, Enyinnaya Appolos, says he is entering the political race fully prepared.

He said he would neither underrate his opponents nor take the confidence reposed in him by PDP for granted.

Appolos, former Political Correspondent of The Nation and Nigerian Compass Newspapers, stated this after his emergence as the PDP candidate for Obingwa West constituency in Abia State.

He said he understands the weight of the assignment before him and is approaching the race with determination, strategy, and loyalty to the party that entrusted him with its ticket.

“I will not underrate my opponents or their political parties. I came prepared for this assignment, and I will meet them in the field”, he said.

Appolos, an astute journalist and media strategist, emphasized his readiness for the task ahead, dismissing any notion of complacency and stressing that politics is won through preparation, hard work, and direct engagement with the electorate.

Appolos, a former Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, emphasized that securing the PDP ticket is not a victory in itself but a call to greater responsibility, adding that the confidence shown in him by party leaders, stakeholders, members and supporters would only strengthen his resolve to work harder for the interest of the party and the people.

Appolos said the mission ahead is not merely about winning an election but about offering purposeful representation and sustaining the political values of the PDP in Obingwa West.

He also pledged unwavering loyalty to the PDP, maintaining that he would remain committed to the ideals and vision of the party as the campaign season gathers momentum.

As preparations for the 2027 elections gradually gather pace, Appolos appears determined to send a clear message to both allies and opponents alike: he is entering the race prepared, focused, and ready for the political contest ahead.
