Nigerian Defence Minister, Gen. Chris Musa (Rtd), Tuesday stormed the North East Nigerian theatre of Hadin Kai for operational reviews.
General Musa who visited the Deputy governor Umar Kadafu and the Shehu of Borno before holding an operational review meeting in the theatre assured residents of improved security to the entire theatre.
He gave the assurance when he visited the Shehu of Borno, Dr. Abubakar Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, at his Palace.
Gen. Musa condoled with the government and the residents of Borno over the recent attacks, due to a triple IED explosion that killed and injured many recently.
Accompanied by his minister of state defence, Bello Matawalle, Musa noted that the visit was basically to show solidarity, assess the security architecture, and assure the state of the military’s commitment to bringing lasting peace to Borno and the North East region.
The military he stressed will not rest until we deal with the terrorists tormenting the state.
The Minister urged residents to pray and support the military in the fight against insurgency because the war cannot be fought by the military alone.
Gen. Musa thanked the Shehu for his support and called for more backing from the emirate.
Responding, the Shehu commended the minister’s efforts and assured continued support, saying the fight is not a religious one, but a battle against terrorism affecting all, regardless of faith.
He prayed for total victory for the military in their war campaigns to bring peace to the state.
