Drama in Senate as Senator Nwaebonyi Clashes With Senator Hanga During Ministry of Works Budget Defence (Video)

The cause of the uproar is uncertain but indications from the video making the rounds on social media shows it might have been as a result of time allocation for each Senator in the committee to interact with the Minister

Tensions flared in the Senate earlier today, February 11, as Senator Onyeka Nwebonyi of Ebonyi State engaged in a heated exchange with Senator Hanga of Kano State during the Ministry of Works’ budget defence session attended by Minister Umahi.

The cause of the uproar is uncertain but indications from the video making the rounds on social media shows it might have been as a result of time allocation for each Senator in the committee to interact with the Minister.

Nwaebonyi could be heard shouting over the short time he was given to address the Minister. He could be heard telling Senator Hanga that he is a member of the ruling party APC and has more right than Hanga who is of the NNPP.

Senator Ndume could be seen telling Senator Hanga to be calm due to the cameras, but Hanga fired back by saying he got elected with ten times the votes Nwaebonyi won his election with.

Senator Hanga claimed since the interaction with Umahi, Nwaebonyi had just been praising the Senator instead of asking him questions.
