AFCON: BUA Group CEO, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Pledges $1,000,000, $500,000 to Super Eagles

Rabiu pledged USD $500,000 to the Super Eagles players if they win their semi-final match, with an additional USD $50,000 for every goal scored in that game.

Nigerian billionaire industrialist and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, has announced a major financial incentive for the Super Eagles following their impressive victory over Algeria in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

In a statement shared on his official social media platforms on Saturday, Rabiu congratulated the national team for lifting the spirits of Nigerians with their performance and pledged substantial rewards to motivate the players ahead of the semi-finals and potential final.

Rabiu pledged USD $500,000 to the Super Eagles players if they win their semi-final match, with an additional USD $50,000 for every goal scored in that game.

He further promised that should the team advance to win the final, he would reward them with USD $1,000,000, alongside a USD $100,000 bonus for each goal scored in the final.

Rabiu praised the players for carrying the nation forward and wished them continued success as they progress in the tournament.

Nigeria secured their place in the semi-final after a convincing 2-0 win against Algeria at the Stade de Marrakech on Saturday.

The Super Eagles are now set to face host nation Morocco in the semi-final of the 2025 AFCON on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria! 🇳🇬

You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals.

To encourage you, I pledge USD $500,000 to the players upon winning the semi-final, with an additional USD $50,000 for every goal scored.

Should you go on to win the final, I further pledge
USD $1,000,000, plus USD $100,000 for each goal scored in the final.

Wishing you continued success as you carry Nigeria forward.

Keep making Nigeria proud.
