Edo House of Assembly Speaker, Chief Blessing Agbebaku, has announced that Gov Monday Okpebholo will, on Tuesday, Dec. 16, present the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the House.

Agbebaku announced this during the plenary session at the Assembly complex in Benin, on Monday.

He urged lawmakers to turn out at their best.

Meanwhile, the speaker has advised contractors handling state projects to be receptive to the special ad hoc committee monitoring project execution in the state.

He said that the committee was carrying out it’s lawful oversight duty.

He warned that the House had the power to write the governor to revoke any poorly executed contract.

“The House will not tolerate any contractor doing shoddy jobs, this serves as a warning to all contactors handling state projects.

“The House will not hesitate to write to Gov. Monday Okpebholo to revoke contracts of contractors, who failed to deliver quality work,” he said.

The speaker also officially announced the defection of the lawmaker representing Oredo East, Mr Omosigho Uyi, from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling-All Progressives Congress.

He said that Uyi’s defection increased the number of APC lawmakers to 21.
