(PRESS RELEASE)
The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has expressed appreciation to the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District VI, Mrs. Mojisola Yusuf for the support extended to the Agency during its recently held Green Hands Creative Gardening for Kids programme.
The General Manager of LASPARK, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, who was represented by Mr. Idowu Sunday, recently led some officials of the Agency on a visit to the headquarters of Education District VI to appreciated the school’s management.
She explained that the courtesy visit was primarily to thank the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary for granting approval for the participation of students under her district in the October 8, 2025 edition of the Green Hands Creative Gardening for Kids initiative — a flagship environmental education programme designed to nurture young ambassadors for a greener Lagos.
Popoola also used the opportunity to seek stronger collaboration between LASPARK and Education District VI in areas of mutual interest, especially in promoting environmental sustainability, tree planting, and other greening initiatives within schools across the district.
According to her, partnering with the education sector is vital to instilling environmental consciousness in young learners, ensuring that the next generation understands the importance of protecting and sustaining natural ecosystems.
Responding, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of District VI, Mrs. Mojisola Yusuf, commended LASPARK for its proactive approach to environmental education and assured the Agency of continuous support.
She emphasized that environmental awareness and sustainability are integral to the State’s holistic approach to quality education.
The Green Hands Creative Gardening for Kids programme, organized by LASPARK, is part of the Agency’s ongoing efforts to engage children in hands-on environmental learning experiences, encouraging creativity through gardening while fostering a lifelong appreciation for nature and green living.
