Nigeria’s foremost evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, Rev. (Dr.) Uma Ukpai, is dead. He passed away at the age of 80.

The respected preacher, who was born on January 7, 1945, in Asaga, Ohafia, Abia State, was known for his decades of ministry that spanned across Nigeria and beyond. Until his death, Rev. Ukpai was a revered figure in the Christian community, celebrated for his teachings on faith, miracles, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

His ministry, headquartered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, impacted millions through crusades, healing services, and empowerment programmes. Rev. Ukpai was also instrumental in the formation of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), an umbrella body that brought together various Pentecostal churches across the country.

Over the years, he became a household name, preaching the gospel of salvation and hope, and mentoring several pastors and church leaders. Despite facing personal tragedies, including the loss of two children in a tragic accident, he remained steadfast in his faith and commitment to God’s work.
