Former Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has vowed never to support President Bola Tinubu in Lagos politics.

According to him, he would rather quit politics than align with Tinubu.

Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Sunday, GRV, who recently dumped the Labour Party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said.

“No. I’ll rather go and focus on my business, work and my family; that would be a complete waste of time.

He stressed that his politics is ideologically different from Tinubu’s, adding that he is only interested in restoring Lagos “to its old glory” and making the common wealth of the state work for the people.

GRV also confirmed that his defection to ADC had the blessing of Peter Obi, saying they are aligned and working towards building a coalition for the opposition ahead of future elections.

Meanwhile, the politician accused police officers of supervising an attack on him and his supporters during a programme in Alimosho over the weekend — a claim the Lagos State Police Command has since denied.
