The pioneer chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Raph Nwosu has hinted that he has evidence.

This followed his refusal to bow to pressure from President Bola Tinubu’s camp.

Nwosu warned the presidency and the APC to backoff.

Nwosu, speaking at an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, said no inducement can stop ADC from waxing stronger.

He alleged, without mentioning any name, that members of President Tinubu’s government have presented offers to him in order to buy him over.

Nwosu warned the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, government to stay off ADC.

“I sent the last signal to them and so on. What I’ve said wouldn’t be new to any national party chairman, as I speak to you today… I just deliberately sent that signal. And if they don’t stay off, we are compelling them.

“I have a call, and I have meetings, and not only here in Nigeria. A couple of days.

“They have used them to go to court to say that they don’t agree with the things we’re doing; therefore, it should be stopped. And they are being protected. We have pictures, and we know where they are.

“No inducement can stop ADC. As a matter of fact, what I did at our NEC meeting was to send a signal so that the presidency,” Nwosu said.

We had earlier reported that Nwosu claimed he rejected billions to accept to back the opposition coalition consisting of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Rivers governor Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and other political heavyweights.

Meanwhile, in reaction to Nwosu’s claim, a presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, described him as ‘an egregious liar’ and told him to reveal the amount collected from Atiku to sell ADC.

Recall that the opposition coalition, after adopting the ADC, named former Senate President, David Mark, as the party’s interim national chairman.

However, a leadership crisis ensued in the party on Thursday after a Gombe-born politician, Nafiu Bala, declared himself the interim national chairman.
