Nigeria’s Super Falcons Saturday night overcame an early setback to beat host nation Morocco and win the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) for the tenth time.

Morocco took an early lead in the 13th minute and extended their lead in 24 minutes.

On the restart, Super Falcons pulled one back in the 63rd minute via a perfect Esther Okoronkwo penalty after a Moroccan defender handled the ball in the vital area.

Eight minutes later, Okoronkwo ran down the right flank and found Folashade Ijamilusi, who stabbed home the equaliser from close range.

With two minutes remaining of regulation time, substitute Jennifer Echegini swept in an Okoronkwo free kick to fetch an unprecedented tenth WAFCON title for the Super Falcons.
