The vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Yusuf Datti Ahmed has revealed what the coalition must do to succeed.

Recall that the ongoing coalition to unseat President Bola Tinubu has been gaining momentum.

Speaking on Arise News, the Labour Party’s vice-presidential candidate noted that despite the great deal of excitement surrounding the coalition, “I think we should not be swept away by this coalition.

“You have key players, Peter Obi, I will call him first, Amaechi, Atiku and maybe Nasir El-Rufai, and they’ve come together from diverse backgrounds with a variety of interests.

“And out of these three, you can imagine that Atiku, Obi and Amaechi, clearly are front runners in this it makes me think, how will the contest be? That’s a good point, because they are very close in the race, very, very close in the race.

“What will the aftermath of this contest be? That’s why I made the analogy and the example with the Buhari case, who was a distant outlier in the very distant from the park.

“All these three are very close together. Now, if one wins, will two others still remain in the coalition?”

Former governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi; former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai; former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi; former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; and former Senate President, David Mark, among others, are leading the coalition, which has adopted the ADC as its platform to contest the 2027 presidential election.
