A list of 127 persons killed in Saturday’s early morning attack on Yelewata, a community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State has been obtained by newsmen

Following the attack, the state government claimed that only 59 persons died.

However, when DAILY POST visited the community on Monday, residents claimed that over 300 people were killed by the assailants.

Franc Utoo, a lawyer-cum-politician and native of Yelewata, who lost over 33 members of his extended family and more than 50 of his political supporters, told our reporter that they have been able to identify about 127 persons who lost their lives in the carnage from his immediate community, with a similar number from neighboring villages who came to camp in the area.
