There was tension at the Senate on Wednesday morning, March 26, over a debate on the motion to award a posthumous national honour to the late chairman of the defunct National Electoral Commission (NEC) Humphrey Nwosu.
Recall that last week, INEC chairman, Yakubu Mahmood called for a national honour to be bestowed on Nwosu who conducted the annulled June 12, 1993, presidential election.
Nwosu, born on October 2, 1941, died on October 24, 2024.
This morning, the lawmakers began a debate on the proposed posthumous award and things degenerated so fast into a heated argument between two Senators.
