Thirty-five Lagos lawmakers have gathered at the Ikeja High Court for the hearing of Mudashiru Obasa’s case regarding the speakership dispute in the Assembly.

Obasa filed the suit to challenge his removal by the lawmakers while he was away in the US.

The lawmakers elected Hon Mojisola Meranda to take over from Obasa as Speaker.

But Obasa was at the Assembly yesterday, claiming to have returned as the Speaker.

The case is being presided over by Hon. Justice Y.R. Pinheiro.
