A 200 level Accounting student of the University of Benin, Miss Evans Godstime, is dead. CampusGist reports that Miss Godstime had been battling advanced kidney cancer and complications from a major surgery.

Family and students of the University of Benin had recently taken to social media to raise funds for her treatment. However, Godstime has sadly succumbed to the ailment.

In November, Godstime underwent surgery to remove her right kidney. Unfortunately, the cancer progressed, and the other kidney became infected.

She was later referred from the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for further treatment, where she reportedly passed on.

Until her demise, Miss Evans Godstime was the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigerian Universities Accounting Students Association (NUASA), University of Benin chapter.

In a condolence message, NUASA described her departed PRO as a “vibrant, dedicated, and passionate student leader who served with excellence and commitment.”

“Her contributions to NUASA and her university community will not be forgotten. Her sudden departure is a painful loss to us all,” the student body mourned.
