Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has congratulated Prof. Edoba Bright Omoregie, SAN, on his appointment as the 11th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
This is contained in a statement by Osaigbovo Iguobaro, the Chief Press Secretary to the Oba of Benin on Monday.
Oba said that the milestone was a testament to Iguobaro’s unwavering dedication and remarkable professionalism, which had significantly contributed to knowledge, truth, and justice in the legal profession.
Ewuare noted that as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) about to assume the prestigious position of Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, he prayed to God and the Royal Ancestors to guide and protect him in his new role.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Omoregie takes over from Prof. Lilian Salami, who is the 10th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin .
Salami made history as the second female Vice-Chancellor of UNIBEN after a professor of Mathematics, Grace Alele-Williams.
