The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has called on governments at all levels to prioritise the needs of citizens by allocating resources to projects and programmes that directly impact Nigerian welfare.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, made this call on Sunday in Abuja on the occasion to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) with Nigerians, particularly Muslims.
Ologunagba urged the Federal Government to review its policies, especially the hike in petroleum product prices, tax hikes, and tariffs, which have consequential effects on Nigerians.
Eid-el Maulud offers humanity, and particularly Nigerian leaders, a rare opportunity to retrace their steps and submit to the Almighty Allah’s will, as exemplified in the Holy Prophet’s life and teachings.
“The PDP charges the Federal Government to end profligacy, curb corruption, and prioritise citizens’ needs by allocating resources to projects and programmes that directly benefit Nigerians.
“Our party urges Nigerians to remain calm, hopeful, and demonstrate love for one another while praying for divine intervention in the nation’s affairs.
The PDP celebrates Eid-el-Maulud with Nigerians and wishes them happy festivities,” Ologunaga said.
