Captain Rasheedat Ajibade is in a buoyant mood ahead of the Super Falcons crunch Group C clash against Japan.

The Super Falcons will be up against the Nadeshiko at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Nantes, on Wednesday.

Randy Waldrum’s side occupy the bottom spot in Group C with two defeats from two games.

Randy Waldrum’s side must beat the Asian champions to have any hope of progressing to the quarterfinals, either via goal difference in the second or third spot.

Nigeria defeated Japan 1-0 the last time both teams met at the Olympics in Piraeus, Greece, in 2004.

Ajibade is optimistic that they can repeat the same feat this time around.

“Victory over Japan is possible. We will work hard so that we can accomplish that. The Super Falcons have done it before and we can do it again,” Ajibade told thenff.com.
