Senate President Godswill Akpabio has dismissed allegations that President Bola Tinubu has requested clearance to purchase a presidential plane.
Akpabio denied the reports during a closed-door meeting of senators that lasted more than an hour.
According to many reports, Tinubu was seeking clearance from the National Assembly to acquire a new presidential plane.
Debunking the rumor, Akpabio said, “I have never had that correspondence to approve the purchase of a plane. We care about the President, we care about Nigerians.
“We will approve things that will benefit the people.
“There is nothing before us. But the purveyors of the story know that there is a problem with the Presidential Fleet.”
