The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have summoned an emergency meeting.
This follows the Federal Executive Council’s (FEC) decision to withdraw the minimum wage directive on Tuesday.
According to Daily Trust, the meeting will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the NLC Headquarters.
According to reports, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, today said all 39 items on the agenda of the meeting were all taken except the memo on the minimum wage.
Idris said FEC could not decide on it because it involves local government, states, FG, organised private sector and labour unions.
He said the memo on the new minimum wage was stepped down so that the President, Bola Tinubu could consult widely before a final submission is made to the National Assembly.
