The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has congratulated Super Falcons skipper Rasheedat Ajibade on earning the Atletico Madrid Player of the Season title. Ajibade was awarded Atletico Madrid’s best player for the 2023-24 season on Wednesday.
Throughout the season, the 24-year-old scored ten goals and assisted five others for the Red and Whites.
The winger scored the decisive goal on the final day of the season against Villarreal which qualified Atletico for the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
“Rasheedat has always been that role model who exemplifies what you expect of a star actor in any field. She has been an epitome of discipline and dedication, and has carried the Super Falcons on her lean shoulders with a sense of patriotism and ambition,” Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi told thenff.com.
“We congratulate and commend her for the rare honour and we believe that the diadem will spur her even further to lead the Super Falcons to glory at the forthcoming Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in France.”
Ajibade is expected to lead the Super Falcons’ quest for a podium finish at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
