Rasheedat Ajibade, a Super Falcons winger, has been selected as the Atletico Madrid Femmine Player of the Season.
This is the first time a Nigerian has won the individual prize. The 24-year-old had a standout season with the Red and Whites.
Ajibade scored 10 goals and assisted eight times for Atletico Madrid in 2023/24.
The former FC Robo player scored the winning goal against Villarreal on the penultimate day of the season, securing Atletico’s qualification to the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
She is slated to represent Nigeria at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
