The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called for the arrest of Asue Ighodalo’s spokesperson over his viral threatening violence against opposition parties in the state.
In the video, spokesman, Rev Olu Martins, is heard threatening the APC, Labour Party, and others with fire and brimstone ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo state.
The APC, therefore drew the attention of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) and the Inspector General of Police to the video and called for their action.
The party in a statement said Rev. Olu Martins’  threat “is a clear indication of the desperation of the PDP, which is losing grounds.
“In particular, we call on the security agencies to immediately arrest one Rev Olu Martins, who claims to be a preacher during the day but is a vandal at night.
“In a viral video as the Deputy Director General of the Asue Akintunde Ighodalo Campaign Council, Rev Olu Martins is seen calling for the vandalisation of campaign materials of opposition parties and threatening any opposition to the PDP candidate”.
The APC  has called on everyone to come out and exercise their constitutional rights of choice during the incoming election without any form of intimidation or harassment from anyone.
“Edo people must be allowed to exercise their inalienable constitutional rights of choice, and the members of opposition parties must be allowed to perform their civic obligation during the incoming election without intimidation or harassment”.
