The number of electricity customers in Nigeria without meters stood at 7,319,846 million.

According to the most recent industrial statistics from the Nigerian electrical Regulatory Commission, only 5,842,726 electrical users out of 13,162,572 registered consumers receive supplies from the national grid.

According to the statistics, Nigeria’s overall metering rate for electricity users is 44.39 percent, while 55.61 percent of others get their bills by estimate from the 11 power distribution firms nationwide.

As a solution to Nigeria’s metering gap, the Bureau of Public Enterprises announced on Thursday that the Federal Government had secured a $500 million World Bank loan to procure meters.
