Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled a trial for Bello Bodejo, the leader of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, on May 29.
This verdict follows the denial of Bodejo’s bail application.
Bodejo, who is charged with terrorism, was missing from the last court session, which delayed the start of the trial.
His attorney, Ahmed Raji, informed the court that his client was ready for the next trial.
Raji stated that there will be no quick appeal against the bail judgment because the court has ordered an expedited hearing.
Remember that Bodejo was imprisoned by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) for allegedly organizing an ethnic militia organization called Kungiya Zaman Lafiya.
Bodejo was arrested in March on three counts of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, and has denied all allegations.
His counsel had previously requested bail on the basis of poor health and basic rights, but Justice Ekwo denied the motion.
