Organized labour withdrew from the current minimum wage talks with the federal government on Wednesday,
This happened as a result of pay offers from the Organized Private Sector (OPS) and the Government, which were N48,000 and N54,000, respectively.
The offer was deemed “ridiculous” by organized labor.
It was gathered that while the FG did not provide any data to back up its proposal unlike Organised Labour, OPS on the other hand, said none of its members pays less than N78,000.
The spokesman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Benson Upah confirmed the exit to DAILY POST via telephone call.
He said, “Yes we are out. We are about to address the press and you will get the details then”.
