(PRESS RELEASE)
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Monday Okpebholo has harvested the entire membership of the Labour Party (LP) in Esan North East in Edo Central Senatorial District.
Besides, the decampees led by Hon. Ezehi MD Igbas who was a former member of the Edo state House of Assembly donated a Sienna vehicle to support the logistics needs of the APC candidate in the electioneering season.
Hon. Igbas said, “we are not only decamping to the APC, but we are also donating a Sienna vehicle to support the candidate and the APC. We are decamping with the entire party structure of the LGA”, he said.
Continuing, Hon. Igbas said, “the humility of the APC candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is what is paving the way for him.
He’s the real Esan Agenda because this is the man who has always associated with the Esan people. All other persons are more of strangers and interlopers.
“You can see that we are not just decamping, but we have also put our resources together to purchase him a Sienna vehicle for the campaigns.
“Uromi has turned APC, and we are going to make sure that all the labour party structure across the other wards who couldn’t make it down today, do the decamping in their various wards”.
Senator Okpebholo was joined by APC LGA Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Ibhagbemi to receive the decampees.
He assured all the decampees that there is no old or new APC members and that the moment you join the APC, you are on the same level as everyone else.
He also spoke on the need for Uromi to vote en masse for the APC because it is the ruling party at the national level, and voting for the ruling party positions you to benefit more from government resources and projects.
He added that the people can begin to see the impact of federal presence already.
He informed them that the federal government has mobilised contractors to Auchi- Ekpoma-Benin because he approached the President, presented the issue to him and the President promised to take action. Today, he has fulfilled that promise.
“So, if I can attract government presence being a candidate, you all can imagine what will happen when I become the governor of Edo state”, Okpebholo said.
Dignitaries present to receive the decampees are Hon. Sam Oboh, Hon. Saturday Iyoha, Hon. Festus Ebea, Bello Oyaziwolo, Hon. Henshaw, Mr. Oligbe among others.
