Chairman of, the Senate Committee on Army, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, has expressed grief over the loss of six personnel of the Nigerian Army – two officers and four soldiers – in the wake of a recent tragic event in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

In a statement addressed to the Nigerian Army, he applauded the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice shown by the officers while on duty to flush bandits in Karaga Village which has been a troubled spot for over a year.

The statement reads, “
With a heavy heart, I extend my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to you all in the wake of the recent tragic events in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

The loss of six personnel, including two officers and four soldiers, who made the ultimate sacrifice while on duty at Karaga Village, deeply saddens us all. Their bravery, dedication, and service to our nation will forever be remembered and cherished.

I commend the troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army for their courage and resilience in the face of adversity during the ambush. Your unwavering commitment to protecting our communities and eliminating threats to our security is a testament to your professionalism and valor.

To the families and loved ones of the fallen heroes, I offer my sincerest condolences and support during this difficult time. Your loss is a loss to the entire nation, and we stand with you in solidarity and gratitude for the sacrifices made by your loved ones in defense of our country.

“As we mourn the loss of our courageous soldiers, let us also stand united in our determination to ensure that their sacrifices were not in vain.
“The Nigerian Army will continue its mission to uphold peace, security, and stability in our nation, and we are grateful for your unwavering dedication and service.
