Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso will snub the chance to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, according to Mail Sport.
Alonso will also turn down Bundesliga rival Bayern Munich to remain with Leverkusen for one more year.
The Spaniard had been strongly linked with the Reds since Klopp announced he was leaving the Premier League side this summer.
But Liverpool have been given no reason to believe their former midfielder wants to leave the Bundesliga leaders.
This makes Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim the leading candidate alongside Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi.
Amorim, 39, will likely be interviewed for the role and it is believed he scored well on internal data tests.
