France coach, Didier Deschamps has explained why his team lost 2-0 against Germany in an international friendly tie on Saturday.

Deschamps said his team were below the Germans in terms of commitment and aggression during the encounter.

Two goals from Florian Wirtz and Kai Havertz gave Germany the victory against France at the Groupama Stadium.

“I think we weren’t up to it. We didn’t have the ingredients.

“In terms of commitment, and aggression, we were below them,” Deschamps said at his post-match interview after the game.

France will now face Chile in their next game on Tuesday.
