Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for Edo State governorship in 2024, has expressed outrage at the kidnapping of the party’s state chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi.
In a statement, Ighodalo described Aziegbemi’s kidnapping as startling and disturbing.
“The news of the kidnapping of the Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, on Friday night, was extremely shocking and distressing.
“I strongly condemn this dastardly act, and my heart goes out to the Aziegbemi family at this very trying time. I join the family in offering fervent prayers for his safe return,” he said.
Ighodalo urged security agencies to spare no effort in ensuring the release of the chairman, charging them on “investigating the matter and working assiduously for our dear party chairman’s safe release.”
