Daniel Bwala, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has cleared President Bola Tinubu of any involvement in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger’s departure from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
According to Bwala, the dynamics of the proxy trade disputes between China and Russia and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, or NATO, are the sole reason for their removal from ECOWAS.
Recall that on Sunday, the military administrations in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger declared their intention to leave the ECOWAS.
According to the military juntas, it was a “sovereign decision” to leave the Economic Community of West African States “without delay”.
However, Bwala said the development has nothing to do with Tinubu’s leadership or lack thereof as it was being peddled by naysayers.
In a post on his X handle on Sunday, the former lawmaker added that Nigerians should focus on the nation.
HW wrote: “The withdrawal of the three West African nations from @ecowas_cedeao ECOWAS has nothing to do with @officialABAT President Tinubu’s leadership or lack thereof as it is peddled by naysayers . “Nigeria is not at war with both blocs, so we are good and President Tinubu would find a path for lasting peace in ECOWAS.
“Let’s focus on our nation and together as a people we would find solutions to our age long problems.
