During the Christmas season, Chibuike Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State, sent Nigerians a message of optimism.
All Nigerians, regardless of religion or creed, are urged by Amaechi in a statement to have optimism that “help will ultimately come with belief and perseverance.”
This Christmas has arrived at a “very critical time in our shared history,” according to the former minister of transportation.
“The challenges are enormous. With increasing poverty and despair at this point, we are in dire straits, which is evident.
“However, the spirit of Christmas signals hope nonetheless—the hope that crying may linger all night, but there’ll be joy at dawn,” he said.
