The Lagos State Government has cleared the damaged section of the Alapere pedestrian bridge ahead of repairs, following its destruction by a truck on Thursday.

This was made known in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, on Saturday, and made available on the X page of the governor’s media aide, Jubril Gawat.

The statement read, “In line with the Lagos State Government’s commitment to prioritising public safety, urgent repair work will commence on the compromised pedestrian bridge at Alapere/Estate Bus Stop along the Third Axial Road.

“As part of ongoing revitalisation efforts, the Lagos State Government has cleared damaged sections, temporarily closed the bridge for safety, and installed necessary signages and well-lit displays.
