Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said it would kill Andre Onana’s confidence if he is dropped for their Premier League trip to Newcastle on Saturday.
There have been calls for Onana to be benched following his errors in United’s 3-3 draw at Galatasaray in the Champions League in midweek.
However, Ten Hag is ready to stick with the Cameroon international, ahead of Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton.
When asked if he had considered dropping Onana, Ten Hag replied: “It won’t help him. Nobody is undroppable, that is also clear. But we have a strong belief that he will help us win trophies.
“I have trust in Tom and Altay, but in the Champions League Andre has so much experience with Ajax and last year with Inter Milan.”
