The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has branded the Osun All Progressives Congress’s (APC) attitude toward the Ademola Adeleke administration’s infrastructure plan as ill-intentioned.

According to the Osun PDP, the proposal is excellent, long overdue, and sustainable for Osun’s economic rebirth.

In response to the Osun APC’s criticism in a statement issued on Sunday, the Osun PDP chairman, Sunday Bisi, stated the APC is anti-development.

Bisi also added that criticism of its government’s multi-billion-naira infrastructure plan is unpatriotic, reprehensible, and a display of anti-development, anti-people politics.

He also added that the opposition party is playing politics with the development agenda.

It should be recalled that Governor Ademola Adeleke unveiled an N100 billion infrastructural plan for the state on Friday.

The plan entails the construction of five flyovers across the state, the rehabilitation of 1.5 kilometers of roads in each local government area, the rehabilitation of health facilities across the wards in the state, and selected public primary and secondary schools.

“APC is a party that is in bewilderment and severe pain at the ingenuity, innovation, and financial engineering of the Adeleke governorship. We see a bunch of rejected politicians who cannot fathom the depth of strategic thinking that produced the crafting of an ambitious infra plan carefully put together with an eye on sustainability and multiplier effect on the expansion of state economy and well-being of our people.

“The PDP government inherited a state with over 95 infrastructural deficits as of November 2022. Our internal state infra audit when the PDP took over revealed that the infrastructural decay cut across all sectors. The APC should get educated that not all governors are interested in diverting public funds as was the practice when the opposition-held sway.”

Bisi called on the APC to read the full speech, in which he spelled out the strategies, the projects, the funding plans, and sources of such funding.

“The APC should get educated that not all governors are interested in diverting public funds, as was the practice when the opposition-held sway.”
