Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a controversial Islamic scholar, has stated that he has no intention of responding to those who have called for his arrest over his recent remarks disparaging Christians.
According to Metrowatchxtra.com, Gumi called Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike a “satanic person” during a sermon.
Gumi asserted that if the FCT and Israel worked together, Muslims would suffer.
He equally stressed that it was dangerous to entrust Nigeria’s national security to the hands of Christians and Southerners.
His comment triggered controversies as groups and individuals called for his immediate arrest for allegedly diminishing the image of Nigerian Christians.
According to Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Gumi should be arrested over his comment, describing the cleric as a “well-known associate of bandits”.
