In the Saje neighborhood of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, a pastor with the Christ Liberty Evangelism Church, Rosco, Iyana Iyesi, Ota, and three other people have been detained with a human skull.
It was discovered on Sunday that in the wee hours of Saturday, personnel from the state police command detained Oluwaseyi and the other three suspects, Ibrahim Agbowewe, 30, Suleiman Ogunbunmi, 40, and Gafari Akinsanya, 57.
The suspects allegedly said they wanted to use the skull for rituals, according to a source in the command, who spoke to our correspondent.
The source went on to say that the suspects’ unusual movements and activities in the region led to the arrest after a tip from the general public.
Police allegedly attacked the neighborhood after receiving the intelligence and detained the individuals.
Newsmen were informed that further things found with the suspects, including a large calabash, a black Toyota Camry, and a ram, had been collected and transferred to the police station.
The four suspects had confessed to the crime, according to SP Omolola Odutola, the state police public relations officer, who verified the arrest.
“We arrested the four of them. They have since confessed that they wanted to use the head for blessings and money rituals. The investigations are ongoing to unravel more details about the incident,” Odutola stated.
